Taroudant, often called the “Grandmother of Marrakech,” is a charming, fortified market town in the heart of the Souss Valley. Surrounded by well-preserved red-mud walls, its medina and bustling souks offer an authentic glimpse of AMAZIGH life. Nestled between the High Atlas to the north and the Anti-Atlas to the south, Taroudant is perfectly positioned for day trips its foundation dates back to the pre-Islamic period, according to some researchers, although others believe it stems from the Roman occupation. It is about 83 kilometers East of Agadir, 274 kilometers West of Ouarzazate, and 268 kilometers South of Marrakech.
